Dr Scott Campbell is an Australian trained neurosurgeon and holds the position of consultant neurosurgeon at Brisbane Private Hospital. Dr Campbell offers a comprehensive neurosurgical service with a special interest in spine surgery and pituitary surgery.

Dr Campbell is dedicated to providing a very high standard of neurosurgical care and works closely in conjunction with colleagues possessing expertise in other related areas including neurology, endocrinology, radiology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

Dr Campbell holds primary degrees in both medicine and surgery from the University of Queensland graduating in 1985.

In addition, he holds a fellowship in Neurosurgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Following completion of neurosurgical training in Brisbane in 1994, Dr Campbell undertook post graduate studies in the United Kingdom where he worked at both the King’s College Hospital and Atkinson Morley’s Hospital in London, furthering his special interests in spine surgery and pituitary surgery.

Dr Scott Campbell has extensive experience with medicolegal assessments and report writing and as an expert witness in court. He is recognized as a fair and objective reporter who offers an unbiased opinion.

Additional Professional Activities and Contributions


In 2000 Dr Campbell was the first Australian surgeon to separate Siamese twins joined at the head. He separated a second set of twins one year later.

In 2003 Dr Campbell was awarded the Centenary Medal for distinguished services to medicine.



Publications


Dr Campbell has published a number of papers in the scientific literature and is a regular speaker at scientific meetings in the field of neurosurgery. He is an active member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australia and the Spine Society of Australia.
